Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_Lightning

Duration: Variable
Area of Effect: Living persons only
Energy Cost: 7 points
Effect: Allows Jedi to hurl a devastating electrical attack against enemies.

Sample Force Lightning

Rank 1 - Jedi launches a single bolt that flies forward, doing instant damage.
Rank 2 - Jedi can maintain the Force Lightning for a sustained forward attack.
Rank 3 - Jedi emanates a sustained fan of electricity in a large forward arc, damaging anything in front of him.

Force Lightning is not a particularly powerful attack. However, it does do some damage, and more importantly, is very difficult to avoid. If you aim at the enemy well, you will almost certainly hit them, be it a lowly Stormtrooper or a fearsome Shadow Trooper.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_Grip

Duration: Instantaneous
Area of Effect: Living persons only
Energy Cost: 3 points
Effect: Allows Jedi to choke or constrict the organs of a living being.

Sample Force Grip
Rank 1 - Affected enemy is gripped and held undamaged, but immobile for 5 seconds. Jedi must remain stationary.
Rank 2 - Enemy is affected similarly to rank 1, but the grip can damage and lift enemies with prolonged focus of the grip. Jedi must remain stationary.
Rank 3 - Enemy is affected similarly to rank 2, but the Jedi can move freely and smash the enemy into walls and other obstacles around him or use the enemy as a shield while still doing choke damage.

Everyone loves how Darth Vader was able to choke his hapless victims to death just by making a stangling position with his hand. Now, you can do it too.

Force Grip is a power that really evolves over time. At first it is used just to stun enemies, then it can be used to damage them slightly, and finally to actually despose of them by sending them flying into walls or objects.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_MindTrick

MindTrick

Duration: Variable
Area of Effect: Humanoids
Energy Cost: 3 points
Effect: Allows Jedi to confuse and/or misdirect attention.

Sample MindTrick (Kyle using mindtrick power )
Rank 1 - Jedi can distract and confuse a signle enemy for 5 seconds.
Rank 2 - Jedi can distract and confuse multiple enemies for 10 seconds.
Rank 3 - Jedi can distract and confuse multiple enemies for 15 seconds or befriend one enemy.

NOTE: Aggressive action or loud noises made by the Jedi will alert the enemy and cancel the effect. Mind tricks don't work on some more powerful enemies like Dark Jedi or Reborn.

Mind Trick is a great tool for sneaking up on characters. If you mind trick the enemies, you can take them out one by one with them even noticing.

At rank 3, you have the ability to make one enemy turn sides and fight for you momentarily. Since the effects are short, it isn't incredibly helpful, but it is nice.

Mind Trick is often used to get characters to do special things for you, like open doors.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_Heal

Force Heal

Duration: Instantaneous effects
Area of Effect: Jedi only
Energy Cost: 1 per each health point recovered
Effect: Jedi has the ability to heal himself after injury.

Sample Force Heal
Rank 1 - Jedi goes into a meditative stance for a short time and must remain stationary. any movement or attack will prevent healing.
Rank 2 - Jedi no longer needs to be stationary. The Jedi will heal over a short period of time.
Rank 3 - Jedi heals instantly.

Once you get the Force Heal ability, you'll never need Instant Medpacks again. So long as you have the patience to wait for your energy to replenish, you can recover your health points after damaging battles.

As your rank goes up, healing becomes easier as you can do it while moving and then almost instantly.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_SaberThrow

Lightsaber Throw

Duration: Instant
Area of Effect: Player arc
Energy Cost: 3+ points (more points are spent the longer it is thrown)
Effect: Jedi can throw his lightsaber and use it as a missile weapon.

Sample Lightsaber Throw
Rank 1 - Lightsaber flies straight from the okayer and returns.
Rank 2 - Jedi can exert minimal control over the flying lightsaber, as it arcs out, but the lightsaber still returns directly to the player.
Rank 3 - Jedi can exert great control over the lightsaber in the air.

The Lightsaber Throw move is a godsend. The main problem with the lightsaber is that you can only attack at close range. While you still can't throw the lightsaber very far, this move at least allows for some projection of the weapon.

The Lightsaber Throw is helpful in hitting enemies, but remember that you're vulnerable to fire while it's out. Try to hit multiple enemies at once for maximum effectiveness; this gets easier to do as you get the ability to control the movement of the lightsaber.

The Lightsaber Throw isn't very useful against Reborn or Shadow Troopers, since they can block is fairly easily. Only use it against them if they have also thrown their lightsaber and can't block.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_Jump

Force Jump

Duration: Immediate
Area of Effect: Jedi only
Energy Cost: 2 - 7 points
Effect: Allows Jedi to make a tremendous vertical leap.

Sample Force Jump (Kyle in air using force jump)
Rank 1 - Jedi can leap up to twice his normal jump height.
Rank 2 - Jedi can leap up to four times his normal jump height.
Rank 3 - Jedi can leap up to eight times his normal jump height.

When you start the game, you'll instantly realize how weak Kyle's normal jump is. Fortunately, you can remedy this problem with the powers of the force. The higher you go up in ranks, the higher you can jump. This move is excellent for dodging fire by enemies, especially if you can jump really high.

Using the Force Jump move, you can also run along walls. While not particularly practical, it looks really sweet. Press both forward and strafe in the direction of the wall at the same time, while slightly at an angle towards the wall. Press the jump key. If you hold it, Kyle will run along the wall. If you press jump while Kyle's already on the wall, he'll do a kick flip off.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_Speed

Force Speed

Duration: 5 seconds
Area of Effect: Jedi and surroundings
Energy Cost: 7 points
Effect: Jedi speeds up and slows the world around him.

Sample Force Speed

Rank 1 - Jedi moves 25% faster than normal.
Rank 2 - Jedi moves 50% faster than normal.
Rank 3 - Jedi moves 100% faster than normal.

When you use Force Speed, the environment will slow down. However, Kyle's movement will be more erratic and harder to control. Force Speed is excellent for coming up to enemies fast, and is even helpful sometimes while fighting Reborn or Shadow Troopers.

Keep in mind the high energy point cost of the move though, and how your energy will not replenish until the effects of Force Speed have worn off.

Star Wars Jedi Knight 2 Jedi Outcast_Force Powers_Pull

Force Pull

Duration: Instantaneous effect
Area of Effect: Objects only
Energy Cost: 1 point
Effect: Allows Jedi to pull specific work objects to him.

Sample Force Pull (Jedi using Force Pull on the Lightsaber)
Rank 1 - Jedi can pull certain levers on objects in the targeting reticle; can also pull one enemy.
Rank 2 - Jedi can pull the weapon out of the hands of an enemy, providing the enemy is facing him.
Rank 3 - Jedi can pull multiple enemies and their weapons.

Force Pull is similar to use as the Force Push. While it as well can be used to push crates and other objects for puzzles, it is most effectively used to deter enemy activity. Pulling an enemy will cause them to come towards you, falling down. This makes the convenient to hit.

At the higher ranks of Force Pull, you can have it effect more enemies, or more importantly, pull their weapons from their hands. This will make the basically helpless as they try to flee.

Against Reborn and Shadow Troopers, Force Pull is less effective than Force Push.
